Grants Awarded
During the past fiscal year, grants totaling $301,692.25 were made from the FACF and Lester A. Walker Fund.
Since 1980, over $15 million from grants, donor-advised funds, scholarships and other funds has been awarded. All grants listed below were awarded between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012.
Arts and Culture Grants
Fremont Opera House, Inc.
$20,000 was granted for furnishings and operational stability and $2,500 for the Imagine Fremont Radio Drama Camp.
John C. Fremont Days
$5,000 was awarded for the FACF Nonprofit Resource Intensive Program.

Civic Improvements Grants
City of Fremont
$50,000 was awarded for the main arena remodeling project and $5,540 toward the Greener Nebraska Initiative.
Forging Fremont’s Future
$5,000 was given for the Community Visioning project.
Ridge Cemetery Association
$10,000 for Phase 1 of the headstone straightening project.

$5,000 for the FACF Nonprofit Resource Intensive Program
Crisis Center for Domestic Abuse/Sexual Assault
$100,000 toward the “Lighting the Way” capital campaign, $1,100 to assist with funding for the “In My Daughter’s Name” tour, and $5,000 for the FACF Nonprofit Resource Intensive Program
Fremont Area Habitat for Humanity
$5,000 for the FACF Nonprofit Resource Intensive Program
Low Income Ministry of Dodge County
$1,700 was awarded for gutter and downspout replacement. They were also selected by Audre’ Kerrigan, recipient of the 2011 Betsy Mulliken Award for Philanthropy, for the $1,000 grant as part of the award
Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, Inc.
$5,574 for the Fremont Nurturing Parenting Program materials
Rebuilding Together Greater Fremont Area
$10,000 was awarded for the Safe at Home Program and $5,000 for the FACF Nonprofit Resource Intensive Program
Salvation Army
$5,000 toward the Summer Food Program
