Hooper Area Community Foundation
The residents of the Hooper area enjoy a wonderful quality of life in a unique small town atmosphere. To ensure that quality of life continues well into the future, the Hooper Area Community Foundation was established in 2008. With the purpose of receiving, administering and disbursing funds for community improvement, the Hooper Area Community Foundation will have the ability to provide assistance in areas such as civic, arts and culture, health and recreation, social services and education.
The Hooper Area Community Foundation has a local Board of Directors who will receive and administer funds donated to the Foundation. The board will also make recommendations for the disbursement of funds for improvement in the Hooper area community. The Board of Directors is dedicated to practically managing the assets, as well as disbursing grants as determined by a majority of the members. The local foundation is a component fund of the Fremont Area Community Foundation (FACF), a tax exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose funds must be utilized for charitable needs.
Ways to Give to HACF
There are many ways to make tax deductible charitable contributions to HACF, and invest in the future of the Hooper community. This can be done through:
- Individual Gifts
- Memorial Gifts
- Congratulatory Donations - given in lieu of gifts for special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries.
- Gifts of Appreciated Property - real estate, securities, etc. By giving appreciated property, you may avoid tax on capital gains and receive a charitable contribution for 100% of the fair market value of the property.
- Estate Bequests - include the Hooper Area Community Foundation in your estate plan as a charitable bequest.
