There are many ways to give to the Fremont Area Community Foundation. Some methods may enable you to enjoy increased income and reduced taxes. Life income programs may eliminate or significantly reduce capital gains taxes on appreciated assets. Gifts can be made using cash, securities, bonds, real estate, or personal property.
-
Fremont Forever Fund
You may give a sum of money or a percentage of your estate to the Fremont Forever Fund, the Foundation's permanent endowment fund. This money provides ongoing support for the Foundation’s giving to the community.
-
Sustaining Drive
You may make an annual gift to the Foundation through the Sustaining Drive, which provides for administrative expenses of the Foundation, thus helping to make the maximum amount of the endowment income available for grant-making.
-
Memorial or Honorary Gift
You may make a gift to the Foundation in honor or in memory of a friend or family member. The names of those memorialized are inscribed in the "Book of Memories,” an attractive, leather-bound volume displayed at the Foundation's office, and noted in the annual report of the Foundation.

Investing in Our Future: The Impact of Wealth Transfer in the Fremont area
Focus on Philanthropy on 02/26/2025
As we look ahead, the "great wealth transfer"—one of the largest asset shifts in history—presents a unique opportunity to shape the future of our communities. In Nebraska alone, approximately $100 billion is expected to transfer by 2030, rising to nearly $1 trillion over the next 50 years. In Dodge County, an estimated $1.9 billion will change hands in the next decade. If even a small portion of this wealth is directed toward local causes, it could have a lasting impact on community growth and development.
However, much of this wealth risks leaving rural communities as younger generations relocate to larger cities. Without intentional planning, the Fremont area could miss a vital opportunity for reinvestment in local infrastructure, education, and nonprofit organizations. Across the state, community leaders are encouraging residents to consider leaving a portion of their estates to local causes—if just 5% of the estimated $100 billion wealth transfer were dedicated to local philanthropy, it could generate $5 billion to support communities throughout Nebraska for generations to come.
Here’s a look at the estimated transfer of wealth throughout the FACF grant area over the next 10 years, and the impact if just 5% was left to local causes:
• In Burt County, the 10-year transfer of wealth (TOW) is $679 million. Five percent of the 10-year TOW is $34 million.
• In Butler County, the 10-year TOW is $815 million. Five percent of the 10-year TOW is $41 million.
• In Colfax County, the 10-year TOW is $673 million. Five percent of the 10-year TOW is $34 million.
• In Cuming County, the 10-year TOW is $783 million. Five percent of the 10-year TOW is $39 million.
• In Dodge County, the 10-year TOW is $1.9 billion. Five percent of the 10-year TOW is $95 million.
• In Douglas County, the 10-year TOW is $22 billion. Five percent of the 10-year TOW is $1 billion.
• In Saunders County, the 10-year TOW is $1.5 billion. Five percent of the 10-year TOW is $75 million.
• In Washington County, the 10-year TOW is $1.4 billion. Five percent of the 10-year TOW is $70 million.
Just imagine what just 5% of our collective wealth could do for the Fremont area!
