NBACF Grants $5,000 to Rebuilding Together

In the back hallway of the North Bend Public Library members of the North Bend Community Foundation gathered to present a check to help the library purchase an Automated External Defibrillator. An AED is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm. If needed, it can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm. AEDs are used to treat sudden cardiac arrest, a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating.

Librarian Amy Reznicek thought the device would be a positive addition to the library given the vast range of clientèle that the library serves.

A machine is being purchased for the Platte Valley Bank and the case was brought to show the size and possible site of installation for the library.

The NBACF donated $900, half the amount needed, with the other half coming from the Fremont Area Community Foundation
