FREMONT, NE – Area professional advisors will learn how a philanthropy-based approach to estate planning offers creative and unique opportunities to help achieve their clients’ financial goals during a Charitable Estate Planning Workshop for Professionals on Thursday, September 25th.

Cohosted by the Fremont Area Community Foundation and the Fremont Health Foundation, the seminar will be held at Methodist Fremont Health’s Health Park Plaza in the 3rd Floor Auditorium from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with lunch provided. The registration fee is $25.

Matt Roberts (MFM, CFP®) and Wayne Johnson (MBA, CFP®, AEP®) from Syverson Strege & Company in West Des Moines will be the presenters for this seminar. Both are Certified Advisors in Philanthropy (CAP®) and specialize in values-based planning for high-net-worth families, a process that incorporates their philanthropic values into the traditional financial and estate planning process. They also serve as a resource to other professionals in advanced estate and charitable tax planning.

Seminar topics include:

• CRT, CLT and DAF—Win, Lose or Draw. Compare and contrast three powerful charitable planning tools—Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs), Charitable Lead Trusts (CLTs), and Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). Learn when to use each, how they work, and how they can be structured to meet your clients’ philanthropic and estate planning objectives.
• Sustaining Family Wealth & Unity Across Generations. Learn how Financial Planning, Estate Planning, and Heritage Planning work together to preserve wealth and harmony for three generations.
• Real-Life Philanthropic Case Studies. Solve actual case histories where charitable planning met clients’ needs and supported their communities.

The seminar is open to all area professional advisors.
