Jake Monke Achievement Scholarship Established

There is a new scholarship available through the FACF for Arlington High School seniors this year.
Established by the employees of Nebraska Irrigated Seeds, LLC, to celebrate the life of Jake Monke and help others achieve their goals and dreams, this scholarship provides financial assistance to Arlington High School graduating seniors who wish to pursue higher education and the many opportunities it affords for a successful, productive life. Students with verified learning disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
The scholarship also honors Jake’s parents, Dave and Sheila Monke, and was presented as a surprise to them. Sheila is a member of the Fremont Area Community Foundation’s Board of Directors. Once the scholarship was officially established (without Sheila’s knowledge, of course), the NIS employees presented Dave and Sheila with a certificate announcing the creation of the fund on February 22nd.
The fund will provide a $1,000 award annually. Students interested in applying for the Jake Monke Achievement Scholarship or other scholarships available through the Fremont Area Community Foundation should visit the FACF’s online scholarship application portal at https://facfoundation.awardspring.com.
