Inspiring Young Changemakers Through Youth Philanthropy Grants

The Fremont Area Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Grants Program is designed to help young people learn the value of giving back—while making a real difference in our community. Open to students in grades K–12, the program provides funding and encouragement for youth-led service projects that address local needs.

While the projects are driven by youth, the ideas often begin with supportive adults. Parents, teachers, coaches, youth leaders, and church or club sponsors play an important role in helping kids think through an idea, organize a group, or guide a project from start to finish. Projects don’t need to be overwhelming—simple, thoughtful efforts can have a big impact.

Here are some examples of the kinds of youth-led projects past grant recipients have completed:

Grants of up to $1,000 are available, and youth may apply individually or as part of a group. Through the process, participants gain hands-on experience in leadership, teamwork, and philanthropy—skills that last far beyond the project itself.

If you know a young person with a passion for helping others—or you work with a group of students looking for a service opportunity—we invite you to explore the Youth Philanthropy Grants Program. It’s a meaningful way to nurture generosity, build confidence, and strengthen our community for the future.
