Five Nonprofit Leaders Complete FACF's Nonprofit Leadership Program

Five local nonprofit leaders have wrapped up a leadership development experience designed to strengthen their organizations and increase their impact throughout the community.

The Fremont Area Community Foundation’s Nonprofit Leadership Program brings together executive directors from local nonprofits for an in-depth learning experience focused on leadership, organizational development and long-term sustainability.

This year’s participants and their organizations are Kirk Brown of Rebuilding Together-Platte Valley East, Kevin Eairleywine of Fremont Public Schools Foundation, Kristin Fagan of Dodge County Head Start, Julie Sleister of Care Corps' Lifehouse, and Kristen Widman of Aspire for Greatness.

Led by nonprofit consultant Greta Leach and her Mission Matters team, the program included one-on-one executive director coaching, roundtable discussions with fellow nonprofit leaders, board leadership facilitation and guidance in identifying and addressing each organization’s greatest needs.

Each participating organization was also eligible for a capacity-building grant of up to $5,000 to support needs such as strategic planning, technology improvements and professional development.

“The strength of our nonprofit organizations has a direct impact on the strength of our entire community,” said Melissa Diers, executive director of the Fremont Area Community Foundation. “By investing in nonprofit leaders, we’re helping them build the skills, relationships and organizational capacity they need to navigate challenges, make the most of their resources and continue meeting the needs of the people they serve.”

Through individualized coaching and opportunities to learn alongside other nonprofit leaders, the program helps executive directors strengthen their leadership skills, build stronger relationships with their boards and develop strategies to move their organizations forward.

The Nonprofit Leadership Program reflects FACF’s ongoing commitment to nonprofit capacity building. By investing in the people and organizations that serve Fremont and greater Dodge County, the Foundation helps strengthen the local nonprofit sector and support a thriving community.
