Foundation Grant Supports St. Charles Borromeo Church History Celebration

The North Bend Area Community Foundation is proud to award a $3,000 grant in support of the upcoming community celebration of the history and architecture of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

On Sunday, November 2, the public is invited to explore the nearly 110-year-old church building and learn about its unique story. The day will feature self-guided tours in the morning, a historical video presentation at 11 a.m., and guided tours from 1 to 5 p.m., where local docents will share insights about the building’s stained-glass windows, handcrafted woodwork, and place in community history.

Constructed in 1916 under the leadership of Rev. Thomas S. Moriarty, the church is a landmark that reflects the dedication of generations of local families. Today, their descendants continue to preserve its beauty and heritage.

“We’re honored to support this event that celebrates an important part of our community’s history,” said Pat Beebe, NBACF publicity co-chairperson.
