Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships

Thanks to our generous donors contributing to 80 different scholarship funds at the Foundation, we are able to provide students opportunities to apply for college scholarships.

Scholarships are available for high school seniors who would like to continue their education at the vocational/technical school level, university or community college, as well as for undergraduate and graduate students continuing their post-secondary education.

The Fremont Area Community Foundation utilizes an online application system called Foundant to accept scholarship applications. The portal is available from February 1st to April 1st each year.

For an at-a-glance look at all of our scholarship opportunities, view our 2023-2024 scholarship list.

If you are having trouble accessing the online portal or have general questions about our scholarships, please contact Amy Vanek at 402-721-4252 or avanek@facfoundation.org.

Area Seniors Receive FACF Scholarships

FREMONT, NE – A record $147,852 in scholarship funds was awarded in April 2024 to graduating seniors from seven area high schools by the Fremont Area Community Foundation. In addition, FACF administers scholarship funds for North Bend Central School which totaled $31,600 this spring.

This year, 1,409 applications were submitted from 162 area students. They were scored by approximately 130 area reviewers. Scholarships are available in many different areas of study and most are available for students attending two- or four-year colleges or universities. Some of these scholarships focus on academic achievement or areas of study. Others recognize extracurricular activities or financial need.

“Thanks to the generosity of many donors, hundreds of area youth have benefitted from scholarships administered by the Fremont Area Community Foundation,” said Melissa Diers, Executive Director of the foundation. “And our online application makes it easy for students to apply and reviewers to score.”

Students who received scholarships this year graduated from: Archbishop High School, Arlington High School, Cedar Bluffs High School, Fremont High School, Logan View High School, North Bend Central High School and Tekamah-Herman High School.

Founded in 1980 with a single estate gift, the Fremont Area Community Foundation connects donors, nonprofits and community leaders with the needs of the community, creating positive local impact. Over the life of the foundation so far, approximately $40 million has been distributed throughout Fremont and the greater Dodge County area in the form of scholarships and grants in five areas of interest including arts and culture, civic improvement, education, health and recreation, and social services. The foundation currently administers over $33.4 million in community assets. For more information about the Fremont Area Community Foundation, call 402-721-4252 or visit www.facfoundation.org.
